Sadly I’m not joking when I say that I fully expect many conservatives to reply to this post with comments explaining why Jesus was quite wrong.
“If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that which thou hast, and give to the poor.”
“Resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.”
“Give to him that asketh of thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.”
“I fully expect many conservatives to reply to this post with comments explaining why Jesus was quite wrong.”
Which I assume is your only motive. I don’t even have time to go into how much you took quote #1 out of context. As I assume you don’t care, and I have work to do, I’ll just say it’s obvious if you read the passage in context that was said for one person, the person Jesus was talking to. It wasn’t a commandment.
If my friend is having an allergic reaction to dairy products, I might say “don’t eat ice cream anymore.” Would you then post Struttin Wolf says “don’t eat ice cream”? No, because it’s obvious it was only intended for one person.
Do some research next time.

Woah, there, cowboy! You’re saying you don’t have time to open your Bible, and in the same breath you’re telling me to do research?
Thank you for proving my point much more sufficiently than I would ever be able to.
