Dangers of Various Drugs

Why not clearly document the real dangers and risks of drugs?  Call a spade a spade – treat them as a medical problem and not a legal one.

Adults should be allowed to do this AT HOME

  1. To be honest, this doesn’t change my opinion on drugs (including cannabis).

The Bible says that the body is a temple of the Holy Spirit and drugs only defile and ruin the body. This goes for just about all drugs, to a certain extent

  2. On that note, how do you feel about McDonalds food, or sedintary behavior (laziness, basically)? These are far more harmful than cannabis – these are the reasons for our problem with diabetes all over the world. Diabetes leads to an early death, and a frightening number of amputations.

If the body is a temple (and I agree with you), we should all excersize, eat well, rest enough, and treat ourselves with much respect, until we’re all sculpted like Greek Gods.

I’m sure most people will agree, sure, we should do all that, but how do you think sloth compares to marijuana, out of curiosity and interest?

  3. Interesting reply. I can see where you’re coming from.

Obesity is a serious issue. However, I still feel that cannabis is a deliberate defilement of the body. People often have an urge to eat (and overeat) that cannabis users don’t have (so I’m told). They simply choose to take cannabis – drug taking simply doesn’t seem to be compatible with Christianity IMO.

  4. What if the drug is prescribed by a doctor, like vicotin or prosac? Or if it’s allowed by society, like alcohol? Alcohol, of course, is a foreign chemical we put into the body because it gets us high (only we call that high drunk). That particular drug, alcohol, is certainly incompatible with Mormonism, but I think the rest of Christianity has been ok with it?

  5. I am certainly NOT OK with alcohol – it makes people behave like idiots and make massive mistakes that they often regret when they are back to their normal selves.

Alcohol in moderation (i.e. before getting drunk is OK), but you’ve had too much if you’re drunk IMO.

To be honest, I am pretty much against all drugs – I don’t really see the need to escape from normal life or how this possibly helps things (it can complicate them more).

Medicinal drugs (i.e. Prozac) have their place but have been oversubscribed in the recent past.

  6. I agree with you 100 % on alcohol. Perhaps that says something about the tenability of my position, or maybe alcohol is actually much worse than weed.

But I like your consistancy. In America, at least, most people think drugs like alcohol are wonderful, but drugs like marijuana are not. A person has to be more than twice your age to be president in my country, Dan, and none of the people running are as wise or honest as you are.
