What in God’s Name is This ???

The headline says “Stand Up To Athiest Bullying“. This is a narrow minded Christian obsessively bullying atheists. This is why normal, moderate Christians like me wind up being hated and treated with mistrust. Seeing this filth, I can’t blame people for the bad reputation “Angry” has earned for the rest of us.

I guess anybody can get a blog these days. The URL is and the man chose that himself.

Readers may be familiar with my feelings about Linux. I have a handful of critiques, about the software it’s (not) able to run, about its thread scheduling, execution model, and the like. These come from making a living as a computer programmer, and I dare say I’m qualified to make them, that these are legitimate critiques, even if they may be a bit narrow. On the other hand, Mr Angry also doesn’t like the Linux operating system, apparently for the sole reason that it’s free.

Go have a look at that post. I’ll wait. Seriously, have a look, it’s the most bizarre, crazy seeming thing I’ve read maybe in my whole life. A follow up post seems to forget the communist nonsense, and celebrate that the open source OS has a distro called “Christian Edition”. Consistency? What’s that?

Apparently he’s a friend of Paul Jub, an unusually bitter man who also sets decent Christians back terribly. It’s no surprise these two would be in leagues – you could be forgiven to think they must have been separated at birth.

Yet another post tells us Barack Obama is a gangster rapper. Unfortunately, I can’t find his album. I’ll be thrilled if Angry Xtian (again, that’s what the man chooses to call himself) would record it and post the mp3 files. If Snoop Dee Oh Double Gee is on the album, I’d like to hear this. Somehow I can’t picture the guy pouring out some Hennessey for his dead homies before passing health care reform.

Which brings us full circle to the last post I’d like to call your attention to. It’s called I Don’t Want Everyone To Have Health Care, and what follows is a bit predictable, but worth reading to see that in fact somebody could actually say and apparently mean this. Many conservatives seem to feel the same way – I guess I should have a bit of respect that one of them had the courage (or just stupidity) to actually say it in public.

Is this a parody? I don’t think so. I can’t be sure, but I doubt it. There’s absurdity, but not much humor. It doesn’t even try to be funny. Anyone with a working conscience ought to be offended by pretty much every word of the man’s blog. It comes out daily, filled almost exclusively with hate and bile. That’s a lot of dedication. There’s no advertising, no humor, no reason for existing, except to express the opinions that show up without fail in every thing the man has to say. I just can’t see it being anything than what it looks like on its face.

I never did get a 100 % convincing answer on Conservatipedia. This blogger emphatically claims not to be running a parody site, in fact several times, and seems offended when the question is raised. These posts – I can’t tell whether it’s that they’re (slightly, at least) better written, a little funnier, or what, but they’re more farcical somehow. Angry Xtian, while his URL, pseudo name, and general subject matter would lead a person to think it’s a prank site, just doesn’t seem to be. Still, I’m curious what others think?

Why am I writing this? I hope my dear readers won’t think me petty. There are a few reasons I chose to write this, and then to hit publish.

  1. The man called me out on the front page of his blog as a “fake” Christian, and for whatever reason, I feel compelled or obligated to answer this charge.
  2. Because this is a shocking case of apparent mental dysfunction. Almost to the level of a (let us hope) non violent Ted Bundy. Whether it’s looking at a gnarly car wreck on the side of the freeway, or some instructive lesson to be had, I think Angry Xtian is worth studying.
  3. As said, the man is a disservice to all Christians. I do hope others realize the man doesn’t represent anyone but himself, and that we’re not all like this.

  1. My god….

This man really have a problem. I cannot help myself but to feel sorry for him, and his family.
But at the same time, I feel that knot in my stomach… This is really a calling to hate.

  3. I’ve been trying to figure out what this is for the past week or 2 – the guy linked to my blog in one of his posts (I couldn’t really figure out why my John Lennon post was relevant).

This guy does seem to be a nutcase. As you said, it smears the image of moderate Christians like you and I.

  4. He linked to my Linux post. I didn’t notice at first becaus a lot of blogs linked to that post, and usually talking about things lik the history of computers. You know, like how Bill Gates “borrowed” a lot of the good ideas in the Mac OS. Then some of Angry’s critics started quoting him, and the link showed up often from a few sites. I had to look into it.

I can’t say for sure if it’s a parody or not. That’s the part that bothers me. I’m about 90 % sure it’s not, but that 10 % won’t go away.

I had another look this morning, and I see as much politics as religion. Actually there’s nothing in that entire blog that God would appreciate, but reading between the lines it looks more like a person that hates liberals than a person who wants to show people that Jesus loves all of us. I’m only guessing here, and can’t speak for crazy people, but I wonder if he saw your John Lennon post, got mad that you were talking about a liberal, and the rest followed.

But that brings up a good question. He’s got a WP hosted blog, and so do I. He might have found me in the Tag Browser. That might explain how he found my blog, but not yours. Maybe he clicked around on my blogroll (you’re the first entry) or maybe this is some banned WT member? Or, maybe I’ll never know, but that’s frustrating.

  5. Anyone wanting further dissection of angryxtian’s blog should refer to these criticisms of him I wrote which turned into venemous back-and-forths with the man himself.

If you are unfamiliar with my blog, I am the one angryxtian refers to as “Chilly At the Crack Spot/Shack” and accuses being a despicable (his word) retarded communist crack head/dealer, among other things.

  6. I don’t think any one should take this guy seriously. Even most fundies will view him as a bigoted nut. He called Linux communist cause its free and open source yet He praises a Christan version of Lunux. He’s insane and even fundies will agree with that.

  7. If you note the Fundamentalist Christian comments on his blog, they are all in praise of him.

  8. I said most not all.

  9. I did’tn know about Christian Linux at the time! It’s still commie libral garbage it’s just not as bad.

  10. And thats why even fundies will see his insanity. Describing open source, free wear proclaims (actually an OS not a program) as communist and describing its programmers as pot smoking liberals is insane.
How is making something and giving it away for free communist? How is thinking that others could o better than you or allowing them to be able to build custom version or to make versions more suited for different interests communist?
And calling everything he does not like communist and anyone he does not like pot smoking communist liberals, even most fundies are going to think “what the fuck?”.
It also shows he has no idea what communism is.

Of course there are still the crazy fundies (or 25% to 50% of them (the rest are mindless sheep))

  11. If I’m understanding this, and I might be making a wild guess here trying to understand, he seems to be saying that open source is free, and it competes with Microsoft, which is capitalism at it’s “finest” (makes a lot of money, hugely expensive products, unfair business practices, on the verge of being a monopoly) then it has to be an ideological battle, and not a competition between 2 business models?

  12. Lone Wolf –

I’d say that not all Christians will support him but the fundies will definitely eat his shit up like it was bronze age mythology.

    Alex –

Actually, I think his problem is that it’s free, and he doesn’t like poor people to have anything.

  13. Yes if they only read his anti atheist bigotry but as I’ve said his comments on Linux shows his insanity to even Funies.
