The headline says “Stand Up To Athiest Bullying“. This is a narrow minded Christian obsessively bullying atheists. This is why normal, moderate Christians like me wind up being hated and treated with mistrust. Seeing this filth, I can’t blame people for the bad reputation “Angry” has earned for the rest of us.
I guess anybody can get a blog these days. The URL is http://ignorantchristian.wordpress.com/ and the man chose that himself.
Readers may be familiar with my feelings about Linux. I have a handful of critiques, about the software it’s (not) able to run, about its thread scheduling, execution model, and the like. These come from making a living as a computer programmer, and I dare say I’m qualified to make them, that these are legitimate critiques, even if they may be a bit narrow. On the other hand, Mr Angry also doesn’t like the Linux operating system, apparently for the sole reason that it’s free.
Go have a look at that post. I’ll wait. Seriously, have a look, it’s the most bizarre, crazy seeming thing I’ve read maybe in my whole life. A follow up post seems to forget the communist nonsense, and celebrate that the open source OS has a distro called “Christian Edition”. Consistency? What’s that?
Apparently he’s a friend of Paul Jub, an unusually bitter man who also sets decent Christians back terribly. It’s no surprise these two would be in leagues – you could be forgiven to think they must have been separated at birth.
Yet another post tells us Barack Obama is a gangster rapper. Unfortunately, I can’t find his album. I’ll be thrilled if Angry Xtian (again, that’s what the man chooses to call himself) would record it and post the mp3 files. If Snoop Dee Oh Double Gee is on the album, I’d like to hear this. Somehow I can’t picture the guy pouring out some Hennessey for his dead homies before passing health care reform.
Which brings us full circle to the last post I’d like to call your attention to. It’s called I Don’t Want Everyone To Have Health Care, and what follows is a bit predictable, but worth reading to see that in fact somebody could actually say and apparently mean this. Many conservatives seem to feel the same way – I guess I should have a bit of respect that one of them had the courage (or just stupidity) to actually say it in public.
Is this a parody? I don’t think so. I can’t be sure, but I doubt it. There’s absurdity, but not much humor. It doesn’t even try to be funny. Anyone with a working conscience ought to be offended by pretty much every word of the man’s blog. It comes out daily, filled almost exclusively with hate and bile. That’s a lot of dedication. There’s no advertising, no humor, no reason for existing, except to express the opinions that show up without fail in every thing the man has to say. I just can’t see it being anything than what it looks like on its face.
I never did get a 100 % convincing answer on Conservatipedia. This blogger emphatically claims not to be running a parody site, in fact several times, and seems offended when the question is raised. These posts – I can’t tell whether it’s that they’re (slightly, at least) better written, a little funnier, or what, but they’re more farcical somehow. Angry Xtian, while his URL, pseudo name, and general subject matter would lead a person to think it’s a prank site, just doesn’t seem to be. Still, I’m curious what others think?
Why am I writing this? I hope my dear readers won’t think me petty. There are a few reasons I chose to write this, and then to hit publish.
- The man called me out on the front page of his blog as a “fake” Christian, and for whatever reason, I feel compelled or obligated to answer this charge.
- Because this is a shocking case of apparent mental dysfunction. Almost to the level of a (let us hope) non violent Ted Bundy. Whether it’s looking at a gnarly car wreck on the side of the freeway, or some instructive lesson to be had, I think Angry Xtian is worth studying.
- As said, the man is a disservice to all Christians. I do hope others realize the man doesn’t represent anyone but himself, and that we’re not all like this.
